Pre-Authorization and Deposit

Credit cards will be authorized the night prior to arrival for the amount of your stay, (room and tax) plus a $150.00 deposit. The authorization will hold the funds until check out, at which time the amount actually incurred during the stay will be charged providing upon room inspection, the room is found to be free of physical damage, smoking, missing items as well as noise complaints from other guests.

Deposit Policy
Cash/Debit paying guests (without credit cards) must produce photo identification and a $200 cash security deposit, which is refundable at departure providing upon inspection the room is found to be free of physical damage, smoking, missing items as well as noise complaints from other guests.

Room Rates

Room Rates are in Canadian dollars and based on single/double occupancy. For more than two adults in a room there is an additional fee of $20.00 per person per night plus HST. Rooms have a maximum occupancy; please ask reception for more details.

Cancel/Change:

Reservations may be cancelled or rescheduled up to 72 hours prior to arrival without charge.

Reservations cancelled within 72 hours of arrival are subject to a penalty of one night’s accommodation and tax billed to the credit card used to hold the reservation. All early departures will be charged the full room rate for all nights reserved.

Smoking/Vaping:

We are a non-smoking property. Guests found to have smoked or vaped in their guestroom may be charged up to $250.00 deep cleaning fee.

Candles:

Due to the age of the building we do not permit the use of candles or open flame in the guestrooms. You are more than welcome to bring electronic candles and use them instead.

Opening Windows:

We ask that you do not open the guestroom windows. These windows are heavy and not designed to stay open without support.

Check in/Check out:

Check-In Time starts at: 4:00PM

Check-out Time is at: 11:00AM

Early Arrivals/Late Check Outs:

We cannot guarantee an early arrival. Much depends on how busy the Inn is the night before your arrival, if the room you have been assigned was rented, how quickly that guests departs and how quickly housekeeping can prepare the room for you. Requests for an early arrival are noted on your reservation. Arrivals from noon to 2:00 pm have a surcharge of $50.00 plus tax and from 2:01 to 4:00 a $35.00 surcharge applies. We will do our best to accommodate, however we simply cannot guarantee. Where possible we are happy to extend a late check-out however there may be occasions when this is not possible. Please check with reception upon arrival to ensure you are able. A late check-out 11:00 am 12:00 pm is complimentary, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 a $50.00 plus tax surcharge applies, after 2:00pm a full date rate is applied. 

Limited Hours of Operation:

Please note we are a smaller boutique style Inn and have varied hours here in the reception. We will make every effort to inform you of our hours prior to and during your visit. For arrivals after the office has closed, you will be sent an email/voicemail with procedures. For departures prior to the office opening you may leave the keys in the lobby drop box.

Lost and Found:

The Stone Mill Inn claims no responsibility for lost or forgotten items. In the case where an items has been left behind and you contact us; we will do our best to locate the item(s) and work with you for its return.

Noise and Disruptions:

Guests are asked not to gather in the hallways as this often creates excessive noise which disturbs other guests.

Please be aware and respectful of your neighbours. Quiet time is 11:00 pm – 8:00 am in all guestrooms and corridors. If a complaint occurs due to the negligence of those occupying a guest room, disorderly conduct, unlawful activities, or repeated noise complaints, the offending guests may be evicted and/or receive additional charges to their account. If a guest is evicted, they are not entitled to any refund.

Damage and Theft:

Should hotel staff find any rooms or hotel property damaged, in any way; the hotel will charge the credit card responsible for the room for all damages and/or clean up fees. That also applies to missing items. We will however make every effort to rectify any damage internally prior to contracting specialists to make the repairs, and therefore will make every effort to keep any costs that guests would incur to a minimum. 

Pets:

We are not a pet friendly hotel and cannot accept reservations for animals other than those certified for assistance.
